1994 Distinguished Alumni
Joe Alexander
Joe Alexander was a member of the rodeo team when he graduated from Casper College in 1967. From there he reached the ProRodeo Hall of Fame. Dubbed “Alexander the Great” by New York Times columnist Red Smith, Alexander dominated the sport of bareback bronc riding. He had five consecutive world titles and two regular-season championships that still remain a PRCA record. In 1974 he set a world record with a 93 point ride in Cheyenne, Wyoming. That record stood until 2002 when it was broken by Wes Stevenson on a 94 point ride.
